Hosokawa Micron Ltd was delighted to have recently exhibited at the inaugural Aerospace Wales Expo 2019, held at the newly opened AMRC Wales building located in Broughton, North Wales.
AMRC Wales is one of the UK’s new centres of excellence for aerospace manufacturing, maintenance, repair and overhaul. Recognising the fact that Wales is home to 10% of the UK’s aerospace industry, employing approximately 23,000 people, AMRC identified that the sector is an area of dynamic growth. Its investment in AMRC Wales and its the state-of-the-art facilities will enable the manufacture and aftercare of internationally based civil and military aircraft for decades to come.
The Aerospace Wales Expo capability and supply chain event, held on 5th December 2019, allowed members of the Hosokawa Micron team to showcase the kinds of equipment we manufacture for advanced manufacturing sectors – such as aerospace, defence, space and nuclear – including downflow booths and our compact, mobile fettling booth.
Featuring two-stage clean air technology, the ‘plug and play’ fettling booth extractor is designed to reduce operator exposure to potentially harmful, airborne chromate and non-chromate dusts and swarf. Our equipment offers replaceable filters (including HEPA), a high performance extractor fan that allows a horizontal air flow to extract particles away from the operator, overhead task lighting and an integrated vacuum cleaner, as well as constant monitoring via intelligent sensors and Hosokawa Micron’s ‘Remote Monitoring with Smart Alert Software’, Hosokawa Gen4.
The full-size fettling booth featured and demonstrated on the stand at the expo is the perfect solution for all metal-working applications, particularly in situations where space is at a premium and the ability to wheel the booth around the production area would be a distinct advantage.
Hosokawa Micron’s Lifecycle Manager, Paul Kilfoyle, was on hand to talk to delegates about the comprehensive services and aftercare available to Hosokawa Micron customers, including maintenance packages, extended warranties, spare parts, operator training, plus the optimising and upgrading options available for Hosokawa Micron’s wide range of containment equipment, while Paul Gilroy, Hosokawa Gen4’s Product Manager, answered questions on how to impact critical business outcomes using Hosokawa Gen4 IIOT technology. The dynamic digital toolkit converts real-time data from sensors and controls into a flexible, scalable and secure solution to reduce energy costs, waste and machine downtime, as well as improve health and safety initiatives, thus positively impacting operational productivity.
